Pathway to Getting Your Driver’s License

  • Enroll in a Driver's Ed Course

    Complete a state-approved driver education course to learn the fundamentals of driving.
  • Get a Learner Permit

    Must be at least 15 years old. Pass a written test to obtain your learner permit.
  • Practice Driving

    Hold your learner permit for at least 6 months while practicing with a licensed adult.
  • Take the Driving Test

    Schedule and pass the road test to demonstrate your driving skills.
  • Receive Provisional License

    Get your provisional license which remains valid until you turn 18 years old.
  • Upgrade to Full License

    When you turn 18, you can upgrade to a full, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Take a 6-Hour Adult Driver Education Course

    Complete a shorter driver education course designed for adults.
